Ride The Cyclone

These custom varsity letters were made for a production of "Ride The Cyclone." I started with the designer's renderings of the patches, then free-motion embroidered them onto felt scrim using a domestic sewing machine. I filled in these outlines with a large chenille stitch, and outlined them with a flat chainstitch to add dimension and clean up the chenille embroidery. Marine Animal Western Embroidery

This shirt was inspired by a variety of marine mammals and the traditional westernwear embroidery style. The front panel features seals, the sleeve panels feature stingrays, and the back panel features a variety of sea life, including sea stars and salmon.

Wildlife Western Embroidery

I embroidered this shirt for an employee at a local wildlife center and based the embroidery on some of the native animals they worked with.

Embroidered Wrap Skirt

I created this embroidered wrap skirt to practice consistency in my repetitive patterns. The design of the trim was created and published by Bob Trump.

Chainstitch Samples

Slide 2 - A test of chainstitch embroidery done on a stretch knit fabric. Slide 3 - A poodle created on felt scrim using chenille and chainstitch techniques. Slide 4 - Chainstitch embroidery mimicking the crewel embroidery on an 18th century pocket. Slide 5 - A chenille patch depicting a possum.
